Our Primate Species Factsheets include general and historic information about the primates. If you have updates with reliable sources for any of these fact sheets, please contact pin@primate.wisc.edu. For current conservation status for each species, please search the IUCN Red List.
The Primates: Conservation of Endangered Species slide set
This online tutorial explores how primates use their habitat, and how threats to the habitat have caused most primate species to become threatened or endangered. Two conservation projects which successfully incorporate education, benefits for the local population, and habitat preservation, are examined in detail.
Primates in Peril: The World’s 25 Most Endangered Primates, 2018-2020
Compiled by the IUCN/SSC Primate Specialist Group, this biennial publication lists 25 primate species considered most endangered and most in need of conservation efforts.
