WNPRC scientist Marina Emborg and collaborators at Mayo Clinic showed that stem-cell-derived heart muscle cells can safely integrate into the hearts of rhesus macaques — the first congenital heart disease–like monkey model, developed at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center.
